‘The opponent within one’s own head is more formidable than the one on the other side of the net’.
Timothy Gallwey, The Inner Game of Tennis
This quote really resonates with me. We have all had ideas, dreams and thoughts which are amazing… but sometimes our mind takes over and builds a case of all the reasons why those ideas will not work, or tells us that the risks would be too great. The mind attempts to protect us, however in so doing it can limit our beliefs, and hinder potentially exciting progress.
Our confidence might be shaken, or our mind will act to make us feel ‘comfortable’ again, and we carry on as normal - fearing the change. But life changes, whether we want it to or not, and we need to learn to ride the change - or to create the wave we want.
